Johanna Gullichsen Fabrics

Johanna Gullichsen is a Finnish textile designer known for graphic woven fabrics with a timeless Nordic clarity. We stock her Normandie double weaves and her Contract range – reversible woven designs such as Doris and Helios, in stripes and geometrics.

Because the pattern is woven rather than printed, the fabrics are hard-wearing and look crisp on upholstery, cushions, curtains and walling. The Contract range is heavier and graded for heavy domestic use.

Frequently asked questions

What is a double weave?

A double weave is two layers of cloth woven together, so the pattern appears in reverse colours on each side. This makes the fabric reversible and very stable.

Which Johanna Gullichsen range is best for upholstery?

The Contract range is heavier and graded heavy domestic, making it the better choice for seating.

Can I order samples?

Yes. Free cuttings are available for every fabric we sell, for trade and retail clients alike. Add a sample to your basket from the product page, or ask our studio.
