Dining Room Lighting

Our dining room lighting includes pendant lights to hang over the table – Mullan's Alma and Rio and Lumina's Dot in three sizes – and the Cambridge 60 picture light for paintings on dining room walls.

Layer a pendant over the table with picture or wall lights around the room, then finish the table with candle shades or cordless lamps. Dimmable light helps a room move from family supper to a long, candlelit dinner.

Frequently asked questions

What size pendant suits a dining table?

As a rough guide, a pendant's diameter should be about a half to two-thirds of the table's width. Use two or three smaller pendants over a long table.

How high should a dining pendant hang?

About 75–90cm above the table top, so the light is low and intimate but does not block the view across the table.

How can I add candlelight safely?

Use candle shades on brass or silver shade carriers, which lower the shade as the candle burns.
