Contemporary Lighting

Our contemporary lighting brings together modern designs from Italian makers Lumina and Davide Groppi with Estro's cordless lamps and selected pieces by Catellani & Smith – floor lamps, pendants, table lamps and wall lights that suit both modern and period interiors.

Well-chosen modern lighting often looks best in an older house, where clean lines contrast with traditional architecture. Finishes include anodised black and brass, brushed brass, matt white and polished black chrome.

Frequently asked questions

Does contemporary lighting work in a period house?

Yes. Simple, high-quality modern lights often sit more comfortably in a period room than reproductions, and they give better light.

Is contemporary lighting dimmable?

Many models are dimmable or have built-in dimmers. Dimming details are on each product page.

Can I get help choosing?

Yes. Our interior design studio can advise on choosing and placing lighting. Call the studio on +44 (0)1488 657900 or email studio@nicholasengert.co.uk.
