Pendant Lights

Our pendant lights range from Mullan's retro holophane, enamel and copper pendants to contemporary designs such as Lumina's Dot, in 600, 800 and 1100mm sizes, and pieces by Davide Groppi and Catellani & Smith. They suit kitchen islands, dining tables and stairwells.

Pendants create a focal point and direct light down onto a table or worktop. Hang retro pendants in twos or threes over an island, a single large pendant over a dining table, or a statement piece in a double-height hall.

Frequently asked questions

How high should a pendant hang over a table or island?

As a guide, leave about 75–90cm between the bottom of the pendant and the table or worktop, so the light is low enough to be intimate without blocking the view.

How many pendants do I need over a kitchen island?

Two pendants suit most islands up to about 2m long; three suit longer islands. Space them evenly, with about 60–75cm between centres.

What is a holophane pendant?

A pendant with a ribbed prismatic-glass shade that spreads light evenly and reduces glare – a classic early twentieth-century industrial design.
