Edward Arthur Walton – Greetings Card
Edward Arthur Walton was a distinguished Scottish artist known for his evocative landscapes and refined portraiture. He studied at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf and the Glasgow School of Art, becoming one of the influential Glasgow Boys who admired the work of Whistler. Walton’s watercolours, particularly of the Helensburgh area, were celebrated for their clarity, colour, and decorative style. Later in life, portrait commissions became a major focus. He was elected a full member of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1905 and later became President of the Royal Scottish Water Colour Society in 1915, continuing to work in oils primarily in the Whistlerian tradition.
