Candle Shades

Candle shades are small decorative shades that sit over a dinner candle on a brass or silver carrier, softening the flame and adding colour and pattern to the table. We sell printed, plain and textured card candle shades crafted in the UK, glass and metal shades, and the carriers and ivory dining candles to go with them.

Designs range from Napoleon bees, shells and buttercups to Swedish stripes, tortoiseshell and shagreen. Mix several patterns from one colour family down a long table, or keep to a single colour for a calmer look.

How do candle shades work?

Most of our shades sit on a candle shade carrier, a brass or silver frame that rests on the candle and lowers the shade as the candle burns. Carriers are available for candle bulbs and tea lights too.

What candles should I use with candle shades?

Use our ivory dining candles, available in 10 and 12 inch lengths, which are made to work with our shade carriers.

Are candle shades safe?

Never leave a lit candle unattended, keep the shade on a carrier so the card stays clear of the flame, and replace the candle before it burns too low.
