John Derian Decoupage

◼︎ I only discovered the work of John Derian in the past few years and find it quite enchanting.

 Based in New York, John Derian specialises in the art of decoupage and employs a small team of artisans to make each item by hand.

 Decoupage, from the French word "decouper" meaning to cut out, is the art of cutting out shapes or images and applying them to an object.  John Derian applies the art to glass plates and paperweights to produce items that are both useful, decorative and rather collectable.
