J.M.W. Turner – Greetings Card
Joseph Mallord William Turner was an English Romantic painter, printmaker and watercolourist. His work is celebrated for its expressive colouring, imaginative landscapes and dramatic marine paintings. A child prodigy, Turner enrolled at the Royal Academy of Arts at just fourteen and exhibited there from the age of fifteen. He worked as an architectural draftsman and later became Professor of Perspective at the Academy. His travels across Europe in 1802 yielded hundreds of sketchbooks filled with scenes that inspired his art. Turner lived his entire life in London and is buried in St Paul’s Cathedral.
